A leading manufacturer of precision engineered components for the aerospace sector, manufacturing rigid pipes, ducting, fabrications/ sub-assemblies, composite tubes, machining, etc, operating from sites across the UK and China.

The capabilities and cost structures of UK and China operations mean it's able to offer a genuine one stop shop for customers, from new product developments through volume production to aftermarket support.

The Role

As the Group Commercial Manager, based in East Midlands office the successful candidate will manage all Commercial elements of the companies sites. The position will report to the Business Development Director and the candidate will also manage and support the Estimating Engineers responsible for preparing quotations.

To maintain terms and conditions in line with customer requirements and Company policy in order to ensure effective flow-down into the business.
Ensure both internal and external compliance to contract policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
To calculate potential exposure of the business in order to minimise risk and ensure cost escalation is mitigated at all timesTo contribute towards the commercial strategy of the business.
Negotiate and finalise all Customer Contracts and LTA's
Combined with the Business Development Managers, Estimating Engineers, Operations and Quality Departments, prepare quotations and proposals to satisfy the customer's requirements while maximising the company's commercial interests.
Be capable of estimating and creating large project pricing submissions using EPICOR and excel.
Negotiate with customers to convert quotes into profitable and sustainable orders. This may require travel within the UK and internationally as required.Your experience

Naturally you will need to have a winning mentality, with proven, and demonstrable background in bid management, preferably with experience of leading major bids to global markets.
With support of the Business Development Managers you will compile complex bid packs and contracts from initial proposal through to contract completion. This will involve ensuring pricing, customer negotiation, identifying potential contract problems through to final conclusion.

A confident, positive and flexible leadership style, ideally supported by well-honed technical understanding of the requirements for mechanical components, preferably with a commercial/engineering related degree or time served experience within a similar role.
Ideally you will have experience and commercial/technical knowledge of the Aerospace market, together with an acquired awareness of competitors, product ranges and material usage. Other sector experience will be considered (Automotive, Engineering, Manufacturing, Rail etc).RFQ, bids, proposals, pricing
