Becoming a Project Assistant with Capita Intelligent Communications:

Location - Mansfield or Darlington

Capita Intelligent Communications are currently looking for a Project Assistant to be office based in our Mansfield/Darlington office - there will be an expectation to travel between our Mansfield and Darlington sites on occasion.

The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for supporting project processes and governance including but not limited to; Project Planning, Change Management, RAID Management and weekly RAG management. The Project Assistant will report into the Head of Projects and is required to administratively support the delivery of any allocated Inbound (scanning ,storage and mailroom) and/or Outbound (print output or print alternative) solution projects. These projects will consist of both BAU client facing projects, and internal business improvement projects, both of which requiring strong attention to detail and stakeholder management. The business will require the Project Assistant to concurrently support the Project Managers, PMO and the Head Of projects across several variously sized projects, ensuring governance and quality is maintained. The Project Assistant will be required to work alongside both internal and external stakeholders.

This is a great opportunity for somebody looking to get involved in Project Management or for an existing Junior Project Manager looking to move into a future Project Management role.

Responsibilities:

Ownership and delivery of small change projects

Governance and process support across print and software Solution projects

Operating within an agreed PRINCE2 based methodology to ensure successful delivery to both internal and external customers

Reporting on all aspects of project performance using pre defined Capita RAG rationale.

Ensuring effective liaison and engagement on project matters across functional team leaders, business managers and client.

Ensuring effective communication with the stakeholders using appropriate project material within agreed timescales. This may include some travel to client locations.

Supporting, creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, ensuring effective, pro-active management of plans, risks, issues, assumptions and change.

Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.

Report and escalate to management as needed to ensure an on budget, in scope project within pre-defined business processes.

Your experience will include:

Experience in supporting delivery of projects from inception to completion, within a high pressured environment, of at least 1-2 technical projects.

Technical skills include competent use of reporting tools. Must be a competent user of the Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.)

Candidates must have strong customer facing skills; ensuring comfortable confident with clients at all levels.

Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail across all governance.

Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills with analytical abilities.

Strong time management and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work co-operatively with others whilst motivating stakeholders.

Eagerness to learn with tenacious task management.

Desirable:

Qualified in Prince 2 to Foundation level

Experience working in the print, mailroom , storage or scanning industry to help support business knowledge.

Technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience with solution driven projects
