publications, and resources; to further the voices and expertise of educators

as advocates for their students at the local and federal levels; and to share

lesson ideas, research, and teaching strategies through its Annual Convention

and other professional learning events.

The National Council of Teachers of English is devoted to improving the

teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of

education. This mission statement was adopted in 1990: The Council promote

the development of literacy, the use of language to construct personal and

public worlds and to achieve full participation in society, through the

learning and teaching of English and the related arts and sciences of

language.



The Opportunity

The position of Event Registrar & Tech Specialist will be responsible for the

registration process of all events held by NCTE, leveraging insights from

events that can shape the way we engage with our members and affiliates. The

role will collaborate across the entire organization to manage a database of

active and potential members and use data and analytics to provide critical

suggestions to implement event strategy and scalability.



SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

* Coordinates all aspects of registration for in-person and virtual events,

attending all virtual events in the role of producer unless prearranged;

creates and maintains common protocols and structures for all digital

events

* Manages speaker database and registration database, in cooperation with

the Events Manager and Event Content Coordinator, including the progress

of program review and preparation of all files for program review (on-

and offline). This includes proposal submissions, review processes and

coaches, management of accepted sessions for scheduling and communicating

with speakers, time/role conflicts related to scheduling, responding to

email inquiries regarding the speaker management system, and providing

back-up and guidance to customer service staff regarding registration

questions.

* Manages the schedule of events throughout the entire year

* Manages internal website development and all registration meeting

websites to ensure accuracy and positive customer experience, including

maintaining meeting business rules required for website programming and

functionality

* Is responsible for ensuring smooth integration of third-party software

systems, identifying fail points and brainstorming solutions. Requires

in-depth understanding of registration and speaker management databases

as well as other tools common to associations and events.

* Implements reliable technological strategies that lay a foundation for a

smooth digital event experience

* Identifies and implements technology (including video, email, podcasts,

etc.) to enable communications that enhance the member experience

* Oversees meeting app development and accuracy prior to launching with

registration vendor (requires in-depth understanding of registration

databases and integration with mobile apps)

* Is responsible for maintaining the data accuracy of all customer lists in

multiple systems including, but not limited to, the AMS system, marketing

platform, registration software, etc.

* Harvests data from event stats and presents it to inform other

departments strategy (pricing, marketing, content development, etc.)

to shape marketing strategy

* Analyzes all registration data on a weekly basis to highlight trends,

including year-over-year comparisons, to influence marketing and

operational activity

* Coordinates database integration between the AMS system and outside

vendors



The Event Registrar & Tech Specialist will encompass the following

qualifications:

* Excellent, precise communication skills, both verbal and written

* Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented

* Ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality

* Proven ability to manage data and complexities within it

* Superior organization skills and ability to work under pressure

* Previous experience with events logistics such as scheduling and working

with external parties

* An experienced data and tech specialist with knowledge of community and

event management best practices

* Bachelor s degree

* Trade or professional association experience, especially with an

education association, in addition to private sector experience
