TLTP are looking for a full time long term SEN TA to work in an SEN school in Sidcup January 2021 start.

This special school caters for children who have severe and or complex learning difficulties within the London Borough of Bexley.

All pupils who attend this School have Education and Health Care Plans. They are one of two special schools within an Academies Trust.

This School is located on two sites, Sidcup (for younger pupils in nursery to Y2/ 3) and Crayford (for older pupils from Y2/ 3 to Y6). 

Week trials for January are being booked now.

Experience working with ASD or Complex needs
Ideally experience in PECS or MAKATON
Willing to provide personal care
Want to work in a challenging environment
Passion working with children with complex disabilities

This special needs teaching assistant role will be supporting a KS1 child with Autism and complex needs.

Special needs teaching assistants will need excellent behaviour management skills
Be able to build positive relationships with young people and staff
Good knowledge/experience working with children with ASD/complex needs within an Special needs environment
Special needs experience working with primary aged pupils
Special needs teaching assistants will be collaborating with the classroom teacher to define appropriate activities for the pupils in relation to the curriculum
Assessing children who have long or short-term learning difficulties and working with colleagues to identify individual pupils' special needs
Liaising with other professionals, such as social workers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and educational psychologists
Working closely with parents and guardians
Organising learning outside the classroom in activities such as community visits, school outings or sporting events
Special needs teaching assistants will need to assist in severely disabled pupils' personal care/medical needs
Administration, including updating and maintaining records of pupils' progress
Attending statutory annual reviews or other related meetings, such as Looked After Child (LAC) reviews, regarding students with a SEN, which may involve reviewing Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans
Receiving in-service training
