Senior Estimator - £38K - £45K
Role Purpose
The purpose of the role is to prepare accurately estimate jobs ensuring excellence to clients in line with the Company values and behaviours. Fostering and contributing to a positive working environment and taking responsibility for the delivery of tasks delegated by site leads and management.
Main Accountabilities:
Analyse complex client briefs and tender documents received from the sales team
Ensure that jobs are specified with the correct materials and process to ensure the products perform as per service life expectation.
Liaise with relevant internal teams including operations, procurement, sales and customer services and external suppliers
Ability to adjust to a broad and fluid set of tasks as requirements change in this progressive organisation
To deliver work on time and to a high standard as agreed.
To understand and adhere to the Company work processes, procedures, and policies
Develop, maintain, and update and understand the branch network and suite of products and services the business provides in order to deliver the best product and service to the client.
Flexible approach to work to meet deadlines
Ability to work calmly and effectively when under pressure of tight deadlines
Deliver ad-hoc duties as reasonably required by the manager
Highlight any Health and Safety issues to the site lead and management teams as required
Quoting
Prepare estimates for the sales team within local MIS system and ensure they are accurately specified by identifying precise labour, process, materials and any outwork or install requirements.
Ensure continuity of pricing for each customer in accordance with previous quotations or customer price list.
Ensure budget margin requirements are observed.
Ensure quotations include information regarding compliance where required e.g. service life, maintenance requirement, H&S.
Estimation Strategy
Compute costs based on current MIS materials and cost rates
Monitors variances between estimated costs and actuals and feedback findings to adjusts MIS database to improve future accuracy.
Assessing levels of risk within project and discuss with the sales team the need for contingency costs.
Review complex quotes and tender submissions with the sales team prior to submission.
Technical:
Maintains technical knowledge by attending Group production facilities and being aware of factory capabilities and cost rates.

An awareness of regulations, Market price trends and exchange rates
General Skills
Be competent and confident in Microsoft programmes
Comfortable with using shared folders to transport files.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping
