Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Autism Support)

Location: Sefton, L31

Start Date: January 2025

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent roles available

Role Overview:

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our team in January 2025. Multiple positions are available to support children aged 3-11 with autism. The successful candidates will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualised assistance and promote a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities for children with autism.

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, both in and out of the classroom.

Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a structured and supportive learning environment.

Support the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with the autism support coordinator.

Foster social and emotional development through positive interactions and activities.

Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents.

Qualifications and Experience:

Previous experience working with children with autism is preferred.

Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are a plus.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special needs.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
