Description

School-based Youth Justice Prevention Officer
Liverpool (based within a school but will also be expected to support YP and their families within the community)
06/01/2024 – 3 months initially
Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 35 hrs/week – Hybrid

Work with young people, parents and carers in school settings to improve young people’s engagement with education, improve attendance and support young people
Provide a range of services to courts, families, young offenders, young people at risk of offending, young people at risk of poor life choices, victims and the community
Assess, plan and deliver interventions according to the needs of young people and their families
Develop projects and activities with young people to enhance their skills, confidence, personal and social development
Work with stakeholders including schools, safeguarding teams, healthcare providers, CAMHS and the police to achieve best outcomes for children
Work with other agencies to maximise the resources and opportunities available for young people
Assist in the development and delivery of programmes of work with young people, both group and individual
Ensure the views and wishes of the young people are represented
Develop strong, trusting working relationships
Dealing with customer feedback, including complaints, and learning from feedback in the drive for continuous improvement
Record and maintain all work done
Attend meetings, reviews and conferences where necessary Requirements

UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
Experience of working with young people and their families
Experience of delivering group and individual programmes of work with young people
Experience of case management with young people
Knowledge of and experience of applying LCC Child Protection Procedures
Understanding of risk and safeguarding issues for young people
Excellent listening and assessment skills
