CNC Programmer

About the Role:

A vacancy has arisen for a CNC Programmer within the Composite Machining Centre, reporting to the Composite Machining Manager and Senior CAM Engineer.

You will be responsible to oversee our Carbon Insert Machining Cell, creating machine programmes direct from 3D CAD models for multi axis CNC machining centres. To schedule production, create part routing and produce right first-time components to challenging production schedule.

Key Accountabilities (Duties):

Schedule production requirements and process orders on SAP.

*

Maintaining quality and workmanship to high standards using timely and cost-effective manufacturing methods following department protocol.

*

Responsible for keeping senior staff up to date with manufacturing status, forecasting potential delays and recovery planning to mitigate the risk to planned delivery dates.

*

Provide clear direction and support to shift team members, along with clear, effective communication across all shifts and to relevant stakeholders.

*

Support programming needs on all component types including tooling block, cured CFRP car parts, carbon inserts and Rohacell.

*

Actively responsible for minimising scrap by using the most efficient machining methods and using root cause analysis to improve our processes.

*

Promote and enforce Health and Safety regulations.

*

Solve manufacturing problems and communicate issues to relevant personnel, as per departmental and Company procedures.

*

Liaise with various personnel as required, across the functions within the whole team.

*

Comply with all departmental and Company procedures and ensuring safe use of all tooling and machinery.

*

Flexibility in hours and the ability to work under minimum supervision.

Candidate Profile

Essential:

*

It is essential that you possess a proven background in programming, setting and operating Multi Axis CNC machines. Delivering the highest levels of quality and efficiency, utilising timely and cost-effective manufacturing methodology, whilst meeting the required deadlines.

*

The successful candidate will have a recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.

*

Knowledge of Autodesk Powermill/Powershape or Fusion360 software, Siemens Sinumerik CNC controls and SAP would be an advantage.

*

A proven competence of CNC machine tools is essential, and experience of Windows and Microsoft office software is required
