Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (Term-Time Only)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM - 3:30 PM

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support a child in Key Stage 1 with autism at an inclusive and nurturing primary school in Harrow. This is a part-time role during school term times, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a young child's learning journey.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Work one-to-one with a Key Stage 1 child with autism, providing tailored support.
Implement strategies to enhance the child's communication, social interaction, and engagement with learning activities.
Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and other professionals to follow and adapt the child's individual learning plan.
Use your initiative to address the child's unique needs, helping to create a positive, consistent, and structured environment.
Build a trusting relationship with the child, fostering their self-confidence and independence.

What We're Looking For

Experience in a similar role, particularly supporting children with autism, is a strong advantage.
An understanding of autism and strategies to support children with social and communication difficulties.
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with young children.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
