Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive are proud to be working with a primary school in Neath who are recruiting for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. This is a varied role and you will be required to work across the entire primary age range as and when required. The successful candidate must work collaboratively with the class teachers to ensure the quality of teaching and learning is maintained. The school prides themselves on providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment where children are encourage to respect diversity and embrace each other's differences. You must have strong ICT skills and exploit this subject wherever possible in terms of developing the  pupil's competence and independence to carry out specific learning activities directed by the class teacher. Within this role you will be expected to encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher. The role will start in January and be for a term initially, and it will be reviewed March 2025.

The successful candidate will:

Will have relevant experience of working with children (minimum of 6 months)
Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools
be able to work effectively as part of a team.
have high expectations both for children and themselves.
have excellent communication skills and be committed to building positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
support high quality teaching and learning.
enthuse, motivate and engage children in all areas of learning.
be willing to contribute to the broader life of the school community
The ability to communicate in Welsh to Level 2 or above is desirable but not essential.
