Teaching Assistant - Year 2 Autism Support (Haringey)

A vibrant primary school located near a train station in Tottenham, Haringey Borough is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team in January 2025. This long-term role involves providing 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with Autism, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position in August 2025.

Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

Provide tailored 1:1 support for a Year 2 child with Autism, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met.
Collaborate with the class teacher to implement effective strategies and adapt learning materials.
Use your Teaching Assistant skills to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Build a strong, nurturing relationship with the pupil, promoting engagement and confidence.

What the Ideal Teaching Assistant Brings:

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially supporting children with Autism or additional needs.
A confident, dynamic, and proactive approach, ready to contribute to the classroom from day one.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to support both the pupil and the class.
Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to process one through Reeson Education.
