Job Advert: Clerk of Works - New Build School Programme in Kent (Freelance)

Location: Kent, UK
Contract Type: Freelance
Duration: 10-month Programme
Site Visits: 2-3 visits per week

We are seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to join a dynamic team overseeing a new build school programme in Kent. This exciting freelance opportunity offers flexibility with 2-3 site visits per week, ensuring high-quality construction standards are maintained throughout the 10-month programme.

Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction works comply with design specifications, building regulations, and health & safety standards.

* Provide detailed written reports for each site visit, identifying any issues and recommending corrective actions.

* Liaise with contractors, the project manager, and the design team to monitor progress and quality.

* Review construction methods and materials to ensure adherence to the approved plans.

* Maintain up-to-date records of site visits, inspections, and actions taken.

Key Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, ideally within the education sector or similar large-scale projects.

* Strong understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and quality control.

* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites effectively.

* Valid CSCS card and other relevant qualifications (e.g., SMSTS or equivalent).

* Available to commit to 2-3 site visits per week for the duration of the programme.
