Health and Safety Officer - Permanent – St Helens- GPW Ref: E(phone number removed)

We are recruiting for an experienced Health and Safety Officer for a bespoke manufacturing company.

Our client will also consider a dual role of Health and Safety Officer and HR, 50/50 split duties to support both business functions and provide diversity within the role.

Key Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Officer role:

- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation

- Implement and communicate health and safety information

- Develop and maintain safety training programs

- Conduct health and safety inspections and risk assessments

- Oversee fire safety and first aid provisions

- Investigate accidents and near-miss incidents

- Manage contractor and visitor safety inductions

- Maintain ISO 45001 standards

- Update safety documentation and training materials

The Candidate for the Health and Safety Officer role:

Essential Requirements for the Health and Safety Officer role:

- Minimum 3 years health and safety experience in manufacturing

- NEBOSH General Certificate

- ISO 45001 knowledge

- Dedicated and conscientious approach

- Systematic and organised working style

- Strong communication skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Skills:

- Additional health and safety certifications

- Experience with COSHH documentation

- Fire safety training

- Risk assessment expertise
