Position: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Essex

Package: £50,000 - £65,000 plus £6,500 Car Allowance + Travel Fully Covered

Skilled Careers is proud to partner with Europe’s fastest-growing construction company, a leader renowned for its outstanding project delivery and ambitious growth. With a £500m+ turnover and an exciting portfolio of innovative projects, they are seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a £40m Life Science New Build in Essex.

This role provides an exceptional opportunity to work as the No. 2 Quantity Surveyor, collaborating with a Senior Quantity Surveyor. It’s a fantastic platform to gain hands-on experience while progressing toward a Senior Quantity Surveyor position.

Key Responsibilities:

Work alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the project’s financial and contractual performance.

Prepare and submit monthly cost/value reconciliations (CVRs) and comprehensive progress reports.

Oversee valuations, cost control, and cash flow management to ensure project profitability.

Assist in subcontractor management, including procurement, valuations, and final account agreements.

Maintain compliance with contractual obligations and internal processes, ensuring high-quality delivery.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with involvement in new build projects.

Ambition to progress into a Senior Quantity Surveyor role, supported by structured career development.

Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.

A proactive and collaborative attitude, with a commitment to excellence.
