Description

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Wastewater Process Engineer to perform testing and validation of our wastewater treatment technologies at our facility in Manama, Bahrain.  Working within a small R&D team, the individual will take a leading role in operating the equipment, performing testing and managing the test facilities.  They must therefore be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.  The individual will be required to conduct the testing personally so will need to have the appropriate practical skills and be comfortable with working “hands-on” with wastewater processing equipment.

Specific responsibilities

•    Testing and validation of prototype wastewater processing equipment

•    Working in conjunction with the R&D team to optimise equipment performance

•    Day-to-day operation, monitoring and testing of pilot and prototype systems in the laboratory

•    Support with testing of prototype systems deployed in the field

•    Management of testing facilities

•    Co-ordination of water sample collection and water quality testing

•    Seeding and start-up of Membrane Bio-Reactors (MBR) incorporating activated sludge

•    Record keeping and reporting of test parameters and results

•    Troubleshooting of system issues

Experience / Knowledge / Skills Required for the Role

•    Minimum of Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in wastewater treatment or a related discipline

•    Experience of working with wastewater processing equipment in either an industrial application or laboratory environment

•    Experience with the operation of MBR systems

•    Strong practical skills and a willingness to work with a “hands-on” approach

•    Comfortable working with wastewater

•    Resourceful and able to solve basic problems when they arise

•    Basic understanding of water quality assessment and the tests used to determine this

•    Computer literate & comfortable with MS Office

•    Ability to communicate articulately in English, both verbally and in writing

•    Self-motivated and comfortable working independently under the guidance of the scientific team

•    Pragmatic, organized and disciplined, with a positive can-do attitude
